I'm creating a presentation in PowerPoint. I have a simple line chart. The chart shows prices on the vertical axis and time on the horizontal axis, with one data item per month.

I'd like to animate it so that the line is drawn over a period of seconds: first January, then Feb, then March, then April, etc.

I think the way to do it is via Custom Animation / Entrance - Box / Effect Options / Chart Animation / Group chart. I'm now looking for Elements in Series, but I only see As One Object, By Series, By Category.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Is there a way to upload photos without using iPhoto? I like it, I don't trust it, and I want to be in charge of my own organization. I'm looking into alternative programs, but in the meantime I really want to keep the photos separate from iPhoto. Is that possible?

Is there any software which can convert speech to text?? I have come across dictaphones and transcription kits in my research on the issue. Of which i guess dictaphones are not the ones as it will just help play back the recording with some controls so that typing is made easier. But i dont want to type....imagine typing up a recording of upto 2 or 3 hours!
May be transcription kit is the answer but im not really sure. Dont wanna invest in some useless stuff.
Please help.

I've just bought a GENUINE upgrade copy of Windows Vista Home Premium. Currently, I have Windows XP Home edition. During installation it asks me for my product key, and after I enter it, it just says "Your product key cannot be validated". I refuse to purchase another one because this should work!

Hello,
Want to make a chore list for me and my husband where my husband and my names will alternate for each task:
will I list each chore on the left...then can it automatically alternate our names?.....if you have a better idea or any help, I'd appreciate it.....infact, you might be saving my marraige, thanks.
If there is anyway to do the minor choes daily, then larger chores only on weekends, like mow lawn and mop floor, that would be great.
Daily would be dishes, make bed, etc....

I'm against it. I heard the govt. isn't using it, either. I think that would be like Ford coming out with a totally new kind of transmission every few years, forcing ppl to learn how to drive all over again. No one would buy Fords if they did that, they'd go out of business! I just want to use the same old programs that I already know how to work!

Don't get me wrong, I realize the true computer geeks of the world swear by Linux and it's probably a superior product to Windows in many ways. Except for those that really matter. Windows is the standard for about 95% of the computers in the world. For the average computer user, Windows is by far the best solution because it's what they already know and what they are most likely to encounter.

Furthermore, there simply are not enough people using Linux for the average person to find a friend who can help them if something goes wrong.

And Linux simply does not have the popular applications that most people are using. Don't get me wrong, I realize Linux has applications for many of the common tasks people do on a computer (word processing, browsing the internet, spreadsheets, etc). But the average person can't take work they've done on a Linux computer and continue on a work or school computer.
