The difference lies in the multiplier. Your CPU, RAM, and buss speed are determined by derivitaves of your O/S bit capabilities. Using 32- bit, your maximum RAM was just under 4gig. Your Hard drive capabilities were also limited to the gigabyte range. Using 64 bit technology, you HD space can be in the terabytes for just one drive and your RAM over 128GB. These differences drive the speed differences that you may see with higher bit technologies.

first of all its x86 not 86 bit. x86 is the processor platform. pc's use x86. 32 bit is what everyone uses, the only diffrence betwen 64 bit and 32 bit is that in 64 bit, there is limited diver support, and it is for developers. it takes advantage of having 4 gb or more of memory.
u all fail

No, hazeltine4, you don't win. 32-bit is designed for regular personal and business computers. On much faster and more up-to-date computers, 64-bit is efficent because it is faster, and can run many more programs at once because the memory level is higher and the processor speed is more on 64-bit computers.

it's the processing capabilities. remember the original 8 bit nintendo? then came 16 bit super nes, then nintendo 64, and now you have x box and ps3- i don't even know how many bits those are.
