I'm against it. I heard the govt. isn't using it, either. I think that would be like Ford coming out with a totally new kind of transmission every few years, forcing ppl to learn how to drive all over again. No one would buy Fords if they did that, they'd go out of business! I just want to use the same old programs that I already know how to work!

You may have trouble escaping the "Vista" trap. When my old computer crashed and I went to buy a new one the stores (Best Buy-Office Depot) only sold computers with the Vista programing. I hate it! I hope to order from Del computers a desk top with Windows XP when I have enough money to do so.
For example: You are typing a report-make an error-try to correct it- the auto type kicks in and forces you to retype since it eats up what is in front of the error you are trying to correct. Turning off this feature is a mystery. Also NO MORE UNDO BUTTON! This handy feature is disabled in Vista even if you download a Windows XP program into it!

See most of the programs are not being compitable with the vista OS if Microsoft releases the service then all the programs will normally works as the xp so wait and see for the Microsoft release of service pack.

I use it at work.

It's got some neat features, and after having used it for a couple of months, I'm used to it.

I'm not sold on it, though. My home computers all still have WinXP on them. There's nothing WRONG with Vista. If I buy a new computer and it has Vista on it, that's fine. But I'm NOT going to pay to upgrade my computer.

Now, Office 2007 is another story. I *love* that product. I've upgraded at home and at work. But you asked about Vista.

hi, I am not sure why you are so annoyed with vista. After all it has not changed "too" much, has it? It has some better features for the networking. But you can use the XP too. No harm in it. But every OS needs an upgradation. Linux versions are having it too. It will only improve our computing. Best of luck!

I'm sticking with Windows 2000 until 2010 when the support ends.

It is still the most secure general purpose OS available to the public.

I have it Dual booting with XP.

Its not ready yet by a long shot, but when it is it will probably be one of the best Operating Systems ever.

Thats coming from a firm supporter of XP.

My guess it will take probably 2 service packs, once its ready it will be the best.

For the time being stick with XP.

I had it for a while, the graphics ASTOUNDED me... I loved it soooo much but it slowed down my 2GB mem. computer soooo much.... and the driver compatibility was still quite small, and I eventually had to go back to media center 2005 to get my printer to work.... but then i yearned for the display capabilities... and then stumbled upon the VISTA TRANSFORMATION PACK which I got... 100% free... and it works almost excactly like vista, just with the compatibility of xp.... and even runs a bit faster.... so i highly recommend it for those of you who feel like they want a vista experience but without... well... Vista.

Hope I helped,
James
