ok everytime i try to open a program, my computer comes up with this windows installer box... and it says "preparing to install" and its really annoying since the program is already installed! and it didnt start doing this until i downloaded zone alarm and then took it off my computer... DOES ANY1 HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS PLLLLLLLLZ??

assume that v have opened 2 msword window 3 excel windows 1winamp window
cant we make pc shut down( example: winxp)
by giving a single comand it should automatically
save the word and excel documents if open
it should not ask the user to save no or cancel?

i need a software for daily download the local newspaper from a specific folder into my pc
for example

also the date change by time

as summary I need a software to download all the files from a specific folder(named by the date) every day

I use Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator all day long in rotation. When I tried a mac mini, its way of handling memory shortrun was to quietly let the applications not in use crash in the background. This was inconvenient, but at least honest. You knew what to expect consistently.

Now, with a dual processor G5/Intel core, I find memory issues making themselves known in very random ways. A window will freeze open and stay up, on an application that shows up as closed when you check the dock or the force quit dialog box. And application menu bars, across the top of the monitor, disappear even when you can keep using the other tool palettes.

Some I talk to say it's an Adobe issue, which I can believe, as it mainly happens with their programs. But Apple's Preview image viewer, that comes packed with every mac, crashes this weird way too. I would call it a half-crash. I always have to restart to make these windows close, and application menu bar return.

Anyone else have these probs?

I recently upgraded to Windows Vista on my Dell Inspiron E1405... I used to use the scrolling function on my touchpad (dragging my finger along the right side of the touchpad area to scroll down pages), but now that function doesn't work... and I can't find in the control panel how to change settings, like I used to be able to with Windows XP.... Anyone know how to get the scrolling function going again?

I recall other problems when I stepped up to Windows XP. Now, I am trying to load the WebCam program, but get an error message saying, the software is for Windows 98. The camera is from Plustek and they don't support this device. (OptiCam 500U)

i have a comapq amarda laptop with no usb or ethernet port,nor does it have a cd-rom
i have worked out that the only way i will get a operating system on the laptop is by using a o/s installed via the floppy disk
windows 95 comes on floppy disk,so is there anywhere you can get this or even download it
also is there any linux os that come in floppy disk,s,i found one but it was all in foreign language,
i just want something to put on the laptop ,just so it dosent gather dust,and end up unworkable
any ideas will be appriceated
