I recently upgraded to Windows Vista on my Dell Inspiron E1405... I used to use the scrolling function on my touchpad (dragging my finger along the right side of the touchpad area to scroll down pages), but now that function doesn't work... and I can't find in the control panel how to change settings, like I used to be able to with Windows XP.... Anyone know how to get the scrolling function going again?

Download the Vista drivers for your touchpad from Dell. Assuming you have the 32-bit version of Windows Vista, this is the driver download page: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/devices.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&SystemID=INS_PNT_E1405&os=WLH&osl=EN

as long as that pc has more beneficial than 1GB of RAM, a sufficient hardcontinual, and a twin center processor, then it is going to paintings effective. basically make certain you understand each and each and every of the elements of that pc for at the same time as it comes time to discover Vista drivers on your new OS set up.

Thanks for pointing out yet another Vista incompatibility issue.
You can see if Dell has a driver update posted on their website.
