Software - January 2007

i had to buy a microsoft excel book for a class in school with a cd rom in the pack...they didnt have any new so i was forced to buy used and when i had to open a file i looked at the cd for the first time and its all scratched looking and im not sure if its a coincidence that my computer keeps having the 'program not responding' window come up or its the cd rom making it do that because its unreadable or something but, does anyone know how to get rid of the scratches? its just a cd rom that im gonna sell back to the school so hopefully its an inexpensive way. i tried rubbing it with a soft cloth by the way, and it still doesnt work.

After 40 days of using winRAR, you can still use it but everytime you open it it displays a message that says " Please note that winRAR is not free software. After a 40 days trial period you must either buy a license or remove it from your computer."

That doesn't make any sense, because I can still click ok and then continue using the program.

I'm really confused, could someone please expain? I mean shouldn't block it self after the trail period why is it still working?

I had to do a destructive recovery on my PC due to bugs and viruses and stuff (thanks to my boyfriend) and im in college. i have to use microsoft office word (nothing else is accepted, ive asked) but i lost my product key. it isnt where i put it. are there any sites where i can get a key or if someone has one theyre willing to share id appreciate it. help please?

still running windows 98,( i can hear you) well anyway, would it be better to wait and upgrade to vista or should i upgrade to xp. i doubt that the computer even has the capabilities to run vista.

I have a computer I bought in 05 with XP. I mainly use it for the internet and to create word and excel documents.

I downloaded Photoshop CS2, but now I dont know to make the damn thing work. I just want to be able to clone myself in photoshop! It doesnt even have to be Adobe. Do you know how to make CS2 work, or is there a photoshop program similar that will allow me to clone myself in my photos? Thanks !

I bought a Pioneer 111DBK SuperDrive burner some months ago. I restored my computer back to original factory settings and lost the installation/ driver CD that came with it. I cannot burn anything because my computer won't recognize the drive. Where can I go to find any software that will allow my burner to be operable again?

I didn't have any problems with iTunes (7) until I installed some software from Verizon Wireless which was supposed to sync my music to my cell phone. It didn't work so I stoped using it.

Now all of a sudden everytime I open iTunes, there are no songs listed in my library and I have the generic playlists. It keeps deleting my stuff.

Fortunently I have some data file saved to restore my playlists and songs however it's insane to keep running this file, which takes forever to load, everytime I open iTunes!

I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, but i still have this problem...please someone help!
