My XP media edition is corrupt and I'm trying to install windows xp pro over it, but computers says media edition is newer so it can't be done. How can I delete the operating system and start from scratch with the new (xp pro) disk?

First you have to boot up from your cd rom. instead of telling you how let me show you better. go to the following website and they explain to you step by step with pictures how to do it. http://www.windowsnetworking.com/articles_tutorials/wxpinstl.html. it shows you how to format your partition. if you can't install it and override the previous operating system. you need to delete the selected partition and then format it. that is only if you can't install it normally.

good luck

i exploit and recommend Acronis genuine image. an entire image is fairly undemanding that i for my area DO it in many situations sufficient. Incremental photographs are achieveable (purely the hot stuff). in case you louse the entire equipment up, you may fix to the image time, of direction. yet opposite to rumor the image may well be "fastened" and actual used as yet another annoying force(s) in case you desire to learn or rescue basically a document right here and there. I hear that Ghost is concerning the comparable.
