How to create a fan video?

Question

I am trying to create a fan video of a show, but i have two questions. One, how do i get the episodes from my DVDs to the computer? and two, whats the best program to use to make the video? Any help, that would be great!

For extract video files from a DVD disk use one of DVD Ripper programs.
For edditing video use DVDCreator2, UleadVideoStudio 8, PinnacleStudio, NeroVision, AdobePremiere. Thoes include effects and transitions.
For compress use VirtualDub 1.6.15 , and codec DivX 5.0.5 .
