I am unable to update the XP professional .Every time I get an error saying that I do not have the XP service pack 2 , when I try to download the latest update it says that my computer is not matching with the Internet explorer7, PLEASE help me how can I update my coputer Compacque Pressario XP professional home pentium IV

AOL 9.0 downloaded something automatically to my System Tray a few weeks ago. I can't get rid of it - no exit and msconfig doesn't show it. I'm having problems now that I didn't have before the download with a message coming up to Install Connection files and Restart Computer every other time I try to load AOL. After I allow it to install, it loads and I have to Restart. BUT it keeps coming up.

ok my computer is not genuine soo yeah soo i have to buy a window xp cd... so i try to uninstall the fake window xp from my comp and its i can seem to remove it because i go to remove and program and it doesnt show up in the list of program and when i put in the cd so i can reformat it but it wont let me either soo now i cant do anything with the cd? little help sum1?

.....without having to go upstairs/downstairs. I am always needing a .txt file from upstairs, so, I have to go up there and mail it to myself, and, it get's annoying. Is there any program that will do this for me, I need a good, free, and easy one. Maybe an FTP?

If I was to build a computer system from scratch and buy either a full or OEM version of Windows XP, what would happen if at a later point after the installation I needed to reformat? After the license key has been activated is it impossible to reactivate my current copy? do I have to buy a new license from Microsoft? I've been wondering about this for a while.

I need software that shows the company hierarchy. I.E with a picture of me at the top then showing roots down to the manangers down to the supervisors and so on. i can then click on anyone's picture and open to a file on them. any ideas please??

I have 4 browsers open at once. I click on a link on one, and while loading, I read the other. In IE6, the newly loaded page would just flash orange at the bottom of the screen, but not interrupt the page I was reading. Now with IE7 (I have tabs turned OFF), instead of flashing orange, it INTERRUPTS what I'm doing and brings itself to the top of all windows. How do I change this to not place itself in front of all other windows when refreshing.

When my computer first starts up and shuts down, I can see the image I set as my background very briefly. But while I'm actually using the computer, I can't see the desktop image at all, only a black background. I can change the color of the background but I can't change the image, the whole box to select an image is grayed out and I can't select anything. My hard drive was just defragmented a few days ago and I do a virus scan weekly, so I know those aren't the problems. The computer works well besides this, and (since I've been reading through other questions for help) yes, the monitor is on. I have updated drivers for everything in my computer, so I know it isn't that either.

Is there any way for me to be able to see my desktop?
