error message appears named "syschost.exe" and contains"windows can't find this file syschost.exe.make sure u typed the name correctly.to find a file go to start and press on search".how can i block this message to appear again when i log to windows?

I'm a little weary of Windows Vista as I'm pretty settled in with XP. I have a ton of programs and I'm wondering if Windows Vista will make me compromise this? I have a relatively new laptop with a pretty good graphics card X1600 256 mb hypermemory to 512 mb. I'm really starting to hate windows as it has so many wacky quirks and it messes up on me in the most inopportune times. Should I upgrade on January 30th?

Im trying to xcopy everything on my D: drive to a folder on my C: drive.The D: drive consists of the obvious(windows,program files,docs and settings) and about a dozen hidden files.Copying all these files to this folder on my C: drive and a copy of the registry will allow me to completely backup my D: drive If I ever need to reinstall windows since my D: drive is my C: drive normally.I just have to make it my D: drive while im copying so no files are in use.The problem is that their is a hidden file called"System Volume Information"in the D: drive folder that will not copy along with a few others.What im trying to do is make a command line in a batch file to do all this.I need this command line to copy everything but exclude the files that wont copy.My command line looks like this(Xcopy "D:" "C:\Backup" /y /k /r /h /g /q /c /e /exclude:"system volume information")But it doesnt work for some reason.Is somethin wrong with this command line.It gives me a message (Can't read file:)Thanks

i know i do print screen but whenever i copy and paste it onto paint, it works until i close windows media player or intervideo and then the picture that i had just made turns black. its like the video is playing on paint. how do i just keep the picture?

Does anyone know how to print the transparent effect using microsoft word? It looks fine in the print preview, but when I try to print it, the transparent areas come out white, which is not what I'm looking to do. Thanks in advance.

I just got the latest version of MAME 0,111 and a rom of a game. The problem is that I have no idea how to run the program. I placed the rom into thr "rom" folder and clicked the "mame" application file. Instead, it says that I should launch the program from a command promp like MAME [options]. Where do I type this?

Please forgive me for my basic and probably stupid question but I am new to the world of emulators. I really have no idea how to run this.

for the past 1 1/2, My husband and I have been on a shared network (2wire) under one xp license. My computer died so I got a new (used) one. It need a new hard-drive so I had one installed. It had xp pre-installed. I don't know why but I tried to install mine and my husbands xp but it would'nt let me. So now I'm on a 30 day grace period with 2 1/2 days and counting to go.I can't afford another xp @ this time. Is it possible to use the pre-installed xp that came w/ the H-drive? Also, I have a windows 95 OEM service release 2 w/ CD key . I don't think it's ever been used! What are my options? I told Microsoft and all they could say was "one license per person...bla,bla,bla ". Does anyone agree that it should be one license per family,network etc.? Any oppinions greatly appreciated! I am trying to get smaller icons on my computer and am trying to change the screen resolution from 1024 by 768 to something higher but there is no option to do that. The only other resolution is 600 by 800.
What do I need to do to get a higher resolution like 1280 by 1024 or something like that, please let me know. Thanks.
