I am trying to get smaller icons on my computer and am trying to change the screen resolution from 1024 by 768 to something higher but there is no option to do that. The only other resolution is 600 by 800.
What do I need to do to get a higher resolution like 1280 by 1024 or something like that, please let me know. Thanks.

If the option for greater than 800x600 isn't available you need to either increase memory for onboard video or get a new video card with more memory.
The other possibility is that you have a driver error. If it isn't the correct driver, you may have a generic vga driver installed by windows at 256 colors. Check your video driver.

You will either need a different graphics card or moniter. It is possible to change the size of icons without changing the resolution. If you are using a PC, right click on your desktop, click on properties, click the tab appearance, click the button advanced, and on the top drop down menu, select "icon". You can change the size of icons by decreasing the "size" option. You may also want to change the icon spacing, too, which is in the same drop down menu as the "icon" option.

If you can't get a higher screen resolution the reason is one of these two:

1) your graphic card doesn't support a higher resolution
2) your graphic card is not correctly installed

Up date the graphic card driver.

that depends on your monitor and your GPU(video card). Your monitor should support the resolution that you want.
