Software - August 2006

When creating the Accountant's copy in Quickbooks, names of accounts and other things are frozen, and cannot be changed until the accountants changes are imported.

Our last Accountant's copy export never came back to us from the accountant. How can I make Quickbooks ignore that fact and let me make the changes I need to.

I need a dvd decoder .I upgraded my laptop from windows me to windows 2000 pro and now i cant play dvds. A message comes up telling me that i do not have the dvd decoder device. Does anyone know of a GOOD, SAFE and FREE site to download it from?

I just used a batch file that had a small mistake in it that I didn't notice until it started running and it unfortunately deleted all image files (jpegs, pngs, bmps etc.) from the first few directories (and all sub directories) in my C: drive.

This has caused me to lose some VERY important information from these files. I know that when you delete things, they are not overwritten instantly, they are just marked as free space - the data is still there.

So I want to know of a free application I can find on the net to restore these files (even a trial would do). I know Windows Restore won't work before anyone says that.

I did a spyware dotor thing on my computer to scan it to see how many viruses i have on it. It says that i have339 viruses on my computer. My computer is going sooo slow! I have defragmented it and done a disk clean up but none of these seem to have worked! How do i stop my computer going so slow, it used to be so quick but now it is driving me crazy and i feel like throwing it!! I cant afford to pay anything out at the moment to sort this out and i would like to try and sort it out myself before i do pay out loads of money for it. Please please please can some1 help me

Here is the problem:
when i double click on a video file (this happens only with video/audio files), the file does not open, the program WinRar opens instead. And when i right click on the video file, i don't see (open) on the first of the list, i see (add to archive)!! The only way for me to open video file is to use (open with)....how can i put the command (open) on the top of the list...it's not even there anymore...
Just to let you know, i think this problem started when i installed some codec program. (i think K-Lite mega codec, or something like that)...i uninstalled it and i still have the same problem.

PLEASE help...

I have seen spreadsheets created in Microsoft Excel where some rows and/or columns are "floating". That is, no matter where you scroll, you can always see those rows. This is especially handy if the first row, for example, is a set of labels that explains the other rows. I have tried to figure out how to do this using the help that comes with Microsoft Office, but couldn't search for it because I don't know what it's called. Can you help?

If I have two windows of two opened programs in Windows XP and I want to press a button to select an item in the first program and after that to make a copy process and to minimize this window and go to the other window and open it and make a press button their and paste what I have copied in the buffer in the next windos. I do not know if there is a program for making such a macro orders for achieving Windows XP tasks like the ones I have explained above. I need you help. Thanks.
