I need a dvd decoder .I upgraded my laptop from windows me to windows 2000 pro and now i cant play dvds. A message comes up telling me that i do not have the dvd decoder device. Does anyone know of a GOOD, SAFE and FREE site to download it from?

Are you asking about the DVD player or the Drivers to make the the DVD it self run sence you change operating systems

Windows Media Player 10 will play DVDs.

finding the right dvd codec for your pc is simple. there are many dvd codecs you can use on your laptop. among are:
WinDVD
Cyberlink DVD
DiVX
MediaPlayer 11
and a lot more.. just search in Yahoo..

you can go to http://download.divxmovies.com/DivXInstaller.exe
then download it
install in your computer to player DVD

try to google it or if u know about torrents you can try to download it for free or last but not least maybe download.com or tucows.com?
