what i means is i have installed the game but i need to reformat my computer , but i have lost the cd key . does anyone know how to excact it from the diablo 2 dircetory or know of a place i can go to find a program to do so?

You can go to www.blizzard.com/support for info. You'll have to send them $10 money order and the "play" disc and they will send you a new key code back with the disc. They have all the details on the website. Once the key code has been used, the game erases it. Good idea to save your next one. You can also e-mail them at support@blizzard.com and ask your question there. They should respond same day. Good luck.
