I've uninstalled it from the Software uninstall program, but it remains in my list of programs like if it is still there.

Oh, I hate NORTON! I had such a problem with it. I needed to run Live Update but it would not allow me to do so. It said I needed to uninstall and re-install, but the files were not listed, so I couldn't uninstall it. I finally had to do a complete system restore. It sucked!

By the way, you could try puting the cd in to see if it will let you install it again before you uninstall it. I know it sounds weird but it has worked for me before with other programs.

This what I had to do .........

You may want to just shut it down in your msconfig so it won't run..

When I uninstalled it fouled up my machine and I had to buy another disc then turned it off..

route Start> Run > type in (msconfig) then startup shut off norton stuff there ..I think that is best option

I don't care for norton...It won't take go away like it should.

click the start button > all programs > look for norton and see if there is an uninstaller in the norton subdirectory

Norton is one of the hardest anti-virus program to get rid of any pc. Have you tried control panel and add/remove? try add/remove
window components and try from there
