I would also look to see what programs start when you boot up and run in the background. Many times when you install new software it is designed to open at the time you turn your computer on. You'll probably find there are a few programs you don't always need open which should free up some system resources and make your system fun faster. Also, what type of antivirus software are you using? If you are using Norton or McAfee, they are both resource hogs. There are several great freeware alternatives that don't use as many resources and will make your computer run faster. Check out the below programs:

avast antivirus
zone alarm firewall
ad-aware
spybot

Those will do everything Norton or McAfee does, but your computer will run faster by switching to them. Also a Defrag helps if you haven't done one in a while.

You should try creating a new file on your desktop where you can hold your ITunes, this way you might be able to stop your PC from running slowly.

Or...you should think about buying a MP3 player such as a IPod or a Sony MP3 player, so you won't have to keep the songs on your desktop and this too will help stop your PC from running slow.

Move the tunes off the C driver if you can, onto another drive. Then go into your I-Tunes option and you will be able to tell it to look in a specfic drive. Then just get it to search the drive where you have moved them, it needs to build up a picture of what is there before it can play.

Once you can play the tunes. Defragment your C drive and another hard drives through the tool options when you right mouse click on the drives. That should help. But the best thing is to clear out as much rubbish as you can, if don't use it save to CD/DVD and take off your PC.

Hope that helps :)

To be honest, its probably not the albums that are slowing down your PC, more likely to be lots of small bits of software running, or you have lots of temp files.

I would try a PC cleanup \ anti-spyware utility first, this is more likely to be the cause particularly if you use the internet a lot.

If this doesnt help then can you move them to another disc? or burn on DVD

Last resort, get more memory or a faster pc, you may be running too much or memory intensive software

it doesn't matter where your albums are, this wont cause your computer to run slow .
if you move your folder, you have to direct itunes to the new location....... File>>add folder to library and point itunes in the new location.
itunes is a big program and takes time to boot up, likewise the more you add to your laptop the slower it will become.
check out how much ram you have and don't keep adding every bit of free software you see.
