My NOD 32 antivirus did not detect that virus when i jacked in my friend's Pen Drive. This is the only attack which it has not detected. That virus has removed Folder Options from Control Panel & from the tools section in explorer.It had also disabled the Task Manager & pops a dailog saying Task manager dissabled by administrator where as i am the administrator & there is no other profile.It has also done the same thing with my registry editor. i am not able to access my hidden files due to this. Logging into my comp in Safe Mode is also of no help. Please suggest what to do. I do not have a net connection @ my house. I update my NOD 32 by offline update files from friend. I run genuine Windows XP SP2 & genuine NOD32 antivirus & free version of AVG anti-spyware.(Is there any solution like the one for heap41a virus?)

I'm taking a intro to Macintosh computer next semester because I'm thinking about minoring in Graphic (Commercial) Art and for all the classes you need to know MAC. I've always worked with a PC with windows on it and only used the old macs back in grade school that had the humogous floppy disks. I know MACs are better for designing then PCs, but what else sets it apart and makes it so expensive? Also, how do you computer process on a MAC? Can the MAC run Office? I know they might be dumb questions, but when you go up on PC there's things you don't know. Thanks!

Hello everyone!

I need some help entering a lot of data on the computer. They are documents I have to translate from english to french and the work is quite voluminous. The data are in english and I have to have them on the computer so I can translate. So what I need is to find a way to enter those data without having to do a lot of typing. Any ideas on what I can do? Will it work if I scan the documents and then translate them? or what else can I do? Please help!

Thhe only thing on my screen is the background picture. There are no files, start button not even the internt. The only way I can go on the Internet is if a pop-up comes on.I don't know how this happend and It was perfectly fine yesterday. I'll be really thankful if someone helped me out

I have enough music for a demo CD now, but the music is in MP3 form, and I have never used CDwrite. I'll buy the CD/RW drive soon, but what is the right file form, and where's the best place to get the software?

Like I said I have several avi files and other video files that I down loaded to my computer I just got an external dvd r+w drive but it came with nero software that has smartstart with it but I am looking for a programe that will convert this files that will playy them in a regular dvd player with out lot of hassel is there a programe that is eather frre or that does not cost a lot of money that can do this please help someone.

I'm just trying to get a handle on how fast computing power has advanced from 20 years ago (1 generation).

How many modern PCs would it take to = the performance of a supercomputer from 1987? Maybe it's how many old supercomputers = a modern PC?

okay so not too long ago i decided to put about 600+ songs from my zune back onto my computer so i would still have them just in case anything ever happened with my zune. after a while having all those songs on my computer, i decided to get rid of them because i noticed it was working a lot slower. before i put the songs on, i had 17 gb of free space on my computer. with the songs on it, i had about 14 gb or so. when i deleted them, the free space i had was no longer at 17 gb like it was originally but instead 15.8 gb, even after i defragmented my hard drive. so my question is why does this happen & is it caused by a cache of some sort? how can i clear it back to around 17 gb, besides disk defragmenter and disk cleanup?

As Demonoid is not online- I am still able to seed a few files- can others "latch on" to this file? or is it only the ones who originally got the file form Demonoid?

im not sure how virtual memory works. its really inefficient isnt it? but what if you went crazy and set it to a huge number? would it make a difference? i dont really intend on doing it. maybe just to see what happens. i have enough ram as it is. should i give it a try for the hell of it?

I have Comcast "high speed internet" and the connection is extremely poor. I don't care if it's all dependent on the number of people using the internet, they still shouldn't make those commericials that diss DSL, since DSL will rpe Comcast in internet speed any day. Anyways the problem is, the internet is pretty good actually at some times, but almost very frequently, the internet just shuts off and they secretly switch you to using a free internet service, which is slower. So I'm saying they're frauds. What do you think of it?

Hi, I am interested, In ICT class today I heard that say I had a hard drive which was 10GB with some naughty pictures on it, say (p0rn) and I deleted them and it showed the hard drive now had 10GB free space again?

I heard that the images can still be recovered from the hard drive using forensic computing men? I wanted to know if the images are still there why would it say 10GB free space available??

Are the images still on the hard drive like really compressed??

My friend has a desktop with Windows Vista Ultimate, and I want to have the cool Switch Between Windows feature. I have the icon on my taskbar, but when I click it, it shows up the Alt+Tab window. How do I get that other screen, which isn't on any other OS? Windows Key + Tab doesn't do what I want it to do.

I frequently download PDF files that are in the range of 450-550KB in size. When I print them, they take forever. One print job (approx 18 pages) can take 20 min to print. Is there a way to speed the print process?

When I print from Word, Excel, Internet, etc. it prints instantly and very quickly.

Ok, so my parents want to get a new computer for me, and i've agreed to help pay it off.
Now i want to avoid expensive computers if ican. (I live in Australia, South from Sydney and often go to the computer fair to see new PC's)
What kind of computer should i get if the main programs/items i'll have on it will be;
Photoshop CS 2/3
Anti-spyware and anti-virus
Adobe suite CS2
messenger
Internet/Firefox
Corel Painter 9
Ragnarok or other MMORPG
And my tablet installers....
Most of the time, all of the programs mentioned above are running at once.
I draw a lot too, and prefer big screens to get good detail...can anybody help me out? Just looking for advice.
