As Demonoid is not online- I am still able to seed a few files- can others "latch on" to this file? or is it only the ones who originally got the file form Demonoid?
Thanks for your help.

Ok- so the tracker "keeps track" ;) of the ratios? I thought it handled the "bringing " together of one pc and another?

Depends on the torrent itself. Some torrents can exist with a tracker, or as a tracker-less torrent.

Obviously, it wouldn't count as your upload credit if tracker's down.

EDIT: By bringing computers together, it does BOTH, as it tracks who has a completed copy, and who does not, and all that! :)

As the tracker is up, anyone with the .torrent file can still join the torrent and download it; from what I've heard, only the Demonoid website where these files were found has been closed.
