What is a good Bit Rate for music files tjhat doesn't take up too much space?

128kbps is about as low as you'll want to go.

You can use a different codec as well.. aac will give you a better wound at 128 then mp3 will at 128

MP3 provides a variable bit rate which would take 96 better than 128.

128kb aac or get a bigger HD.
