You can use the Alt codes to type special characters Turn on the Num Lock, hold down the ALT key and type in the number using the numerical keypad of your computer. The sites below show you some of the major ones.

There is also a character map on your computer. You can use it as well. Go to Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, Character Map

Alt + 0220 = Ü
Alt + 0252 = ü

Depends on the word processing program. If you are in MS Word, Click Insert -> Symbol -> Palatino Linotype. Look for the U.

You have to hold Alt and then type different number on the key pad on the right. Like Alt 168 makes a "¿". Get it?
