having awful trouble opening files to work on. Is it a pain to uninstall the whole thing? What will i loose if i do? Are there other programs i would loose also? thank you

Its so painful. Seeds have to be there when downloading. Why on earth cant they just give an option of download. Its easier that way! My movies are taking so long to download. I have a fast connection of 512 kbps but its been more than 24 hours already! I am downloading 4 files all together. Should I download them one by one or two by two? I think this is the last time coz this is so time consuming.

I recently bought a new laptop with windows xp pre installed on it, however this broke down and forced me to download a copy as it didn't come with a cd even though I bought it (!)
Now it asked me to activate it so I used a crack and when it was on it said activation was complete, however when I rebooted it, it won't log on even though it says activation is complete. I'm on another pc typing this btw.
What on earth can i do? I'm so p'd off with windows because I paid for it all :(
Will installing a new version of non sp2 windows work?

Asi turned on my PC, there is a 3 short beeps and after a pause it beeps again at the same pattern like this beep-beep-beep pause beep-beep-beep .and my monior doesn't display anything.I removed my video card and memory to clean it,and after i have inserted it, i turned on again the PC and it goes the same.please help me to fix this problem..........

One day i played a game on the computer and it was fast. My computer is a vista with a 3 gig ram, nvidia graphics, and amd 64 live. I accidently unplugged the power cord and the computer turned off while i was playing counter strike. When i went back on it was slower than usual and i cant get it to full speed again. Any answers to this problem?

I have an old computer, a compact presario. I wa swondering could I take the computer and turn it to a storage device, for excess memory from my laptop. Im not very computer savvy, so the termonology has to be dumbed down a little.

These are some of the free web hosts that I could find using Google.
However, I am not sure of their history, like, how long they have been running, and how often do they go out of the namespace etc…
Since some of these hosts do not even have third party adds on the free hosted web pages, I wonder how long can they keep the business running.

Anyway, I just need to know from you, some of the free web hosting sites on the net (that are in business from a long time) on which I can post my daily life happenings. It must support HTML, Animation, GIF’s, FrontPage, Uploading Photos, and Videos atleast. One thing is that, I do not like blogging websites. So plz do not suggest bloggs. Cheers.

My main hard drive is now full. I want to move everything to another hard drive I had installed during an upgrade I had done a few weeks ago. As the full drive was where i ran everything from I am afraid i will affect how the Pc runs when I move it .How should I do the move or shud i just do 1 item at a time and will they work as usual when I do this I want to free up about 40 gig onto a 250 gig new disk...com pleat technophobic..

I've tried:
1. Removing firewalls. antivirus, spyware
2. Unplugging and waiting.
3. Typing in: ipconfig /renew.
4. Replacing network card.
5. Trying 'repair'.
6. Uninstalling/installing network drivers.
7. Calling Insight cable.
8. Doing a virus check

This is the strangest thing I've ever experienced. ONLY a reboot restores it. Does it every time. Anyone have other ideas?

after linking 2 hard disks this had happend, when switching on my pc a msg appears that says ( missing operating system ) i tried ti re-install win-xp, but during the installation after the first restart this msg appears again , i did an antivirus check there was nothing and the hard drives were alright,,, i think the problem is something in the booting..so can any body help me plz

I have an old Mac G3 with an internalCD/DVD player (not recorder)
Plus and ext. freecom recorder/player ( it doesn't record DVD's) I want to record only the soundtrack from a Massive Attack musical DVD to my iTunes in MP3.....

Used to be able to send large files - film clips etc. Have no trouble receiving them from friends with dial-up. (I have broadband connection.) Have disabled scanning outgoing emails and this hasn't helped.

I just need to clarify why file sharing was created. Was it to merely share non-copyrighted files such a music, videos, and manuscripts or was it so send copyrighted materials for free?
