These are some of the free web hosts that I could find using Google.
However, I am not sure of their history, like, how long they have been running, and how often do they go out of the namespace etc…
Since some of these hosts do not even have third party adds on the free hosted web pages, I wonder how long can they keep the business running.

Anyway, I just need to know from you, some of the free web hosting sites on the net (that are in business from a long time) on which I can post my daily life happenings. It must support HTML, Animation, GIF’s, FrontPage, Uploading Photos, and Videos atleast. One thing is that, I do not like blogging websites. So plz do not suggest bloggs. Cheers.

Begin with setting up your own webpage as your current internet provider will provide free hosting as discussed below.

If you are currently a paid Internet subscriber, you are entitled to a "homepage" which often contains simple navigation and editing tools. And if you use the Netscape browser, the built-in Composer feature is a superior HTML authoring tool which is totally free. You can easily generate a full-blown website as a Homepage.

Nevertheless, the "homepage" URL is likely to be "http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... name" and that URL can easily be overwritten via a redirection service, i.e., "mydomain.com" which allows you to link any registered domain name to "mask" another website. For example, should you type in the "domain name," you will be immediately transported to the homepage and the hompage URL of http://homepage.earthlink.com/subscriber... a homepage URL which will be masked by the domain name. And the charge for the redirection service [even at godaddy.com] is normally FREE.

When you acquire a domain name, connect it using a redirection service [as discussed above] and submit/publish the domain name on major search engines/directories in order for Net surfers to find your website.

Good luck!

I wrote my diploma about free hosting companies and did quite some research on this. I tested more than 10 free hosting solutions, but none of them could deliver what the promised - finally I found http://long-term.webhostingiq.org that guided me to the best free hosting solutions depending on my requirements I had for the different projects. Here you find as well free hosting providers that offer Email solutions for your own domain.

Have fun building your side!

The mentioned free hostings are mostly for normal html pages. None of them supports PHP or gives Database. If so, the host providers shows their ads on our pages.

Iam giving you the name of the site which gives you a good PHP and MySql supported Free Domain Hosting site: http://webmasters-forums.com/Free-Web-Hosting-with-MySql-and-PHP-Support-t-618.html
