My main hard drive is now full. I want to move everything to another hard drive I had installed during an upgrade I had done a few weeks ago. As the full drive was where i ran everything from I am afraid i will affect how the Pc runs when I move it .How should I do the move or shud i just do 1 item at a time and will they work as usual when I do this I want to free up about 40 gig onto a 250 gig new disk...com pleat technophobic..
so simple answers only please

Once I have moved the folders can I "Safely" clear the files off the full drive ?

I'm assuming you haven't put anything on the larger drive yet. What you want to do is clone the old drive onto the new one and then make the new drive your C: drive. Acronis True Image and Norton Ghost are two commercial products which work very well; freeware alternatives include DriveImageXML, PTReplicator, and XXClone, but I've only used ATI and NG personally.

Best way to move everything you have added is to 2x click on My Computer>C drive>Doc and Settings> and from here right-click on your username folder and select copy and paste in the new HD identified in My Computer. If other people logon as well and you wish to save their info, follow steps above.

Yes you can safely clear them once you are certain that you've copied over everything you want.
