My computers really slow, how can i make it quicker without going to the repair shop or buying anything for it, ive checked for bugs and viruses buy their arent any!!tell me step-by-step!!!

I am just wondering because me and my friend Mike have this big deal over which of them is better. I said that Vista is better than Tiger and he said that Vista is a Copy of Tiger. I also said that Tiger is a Copy of Windows Media. Tell me what you think.

Hello, I work in tech support for a company whose end-users seem to think every-time we are telling them to restart, we are taking a shortcut of some sort. In general (since it really depends on the applications and operating system in use), what do you tell them when they ask "why do I have to restart"?

After you buy faronics deep freeze software, do you have to pay for any subscription fees? Because I see that it comes with a one year 'maintenance' plan. Does that mean subscription? I wanna buy something and not pay a penny more, no games.

I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron 1300 and there is a small blue box that looks like a window or something that wont delete! I have tried deleting it by clicking it and pressing delete and also putting it in the Recycling bin, but nothing works! I dont know if it is a virus or what! What is is and how do I get rid of it?

It was a free test run program, which i ran. I uninstalled it from my pc completely. Yet down in the "task tray" (by clock in lower right) this blue icon with a yellow X in the middle blinks between
it and a yellow ! (caution/triangle) one. Each time i try to rid myself of it i only bring up the home page for this product. How do i rid myself of it? HELP!!! Thanks. dougjallen@yahoo.com

When I first ordered my DELL laptop on the phone, I was told I wouldnt have to pay any interest on my laptop for 18 months. 2 months later after receiving my bill I noticed I had a 30% finance charge added to my payment. When I called Dell they basically said I misunderstood and that they never offered me no interest. When you call Dell, you will hear a message saying this call is being recorded, well i had asked if I can hear back the conversation. I know for a fact they told me NO INTEREST!! They kept transferring me to at least 5 different ext.'s, I ended up with no answers!!! If it wasnt for the "no interest" i wouldnt have gotten my laptop through Dell. I would have kept looking for a better deal. Lately on the news I have been noticing a lot of complains about the same problem. Does anyone out there know what I can do about this???

I asked this question late last night and only got a few responses so I'm hoping to get some more today. I am having big problems with my computer at home and I am ready to chuck it out the window. I have a Dell Dimension Desktop and for some reason I went to go turn it on last night and it looked as if it started up ok but when it got to the part where your desktop icons are visible after a few seconds they just disappear and there's nothing on the monitor but the "Dell" background, even the tackbar is gone. Has this happened to anyone? Thanks so much for any help.
p.s. of course the warranty is up already too!!

I just logged onto my computer, and my yahoo toolbar is gone. ALL my buttons: Answers,Messenger, Mail envelope,Settings,etc. are blank. Is anyone else having any problems, I am a novice on the computer, and it took me much longer than most experienced users to set up my entire yahoo bar with my icons. Can someone please help? Thank you
