Deep Freeze question?

After you buy faronics deep freeze software, do you have to pay for any subscription fees? Because I see that it comes with a one year 'maintenance' plan. Does that mean subscription? I wanna buy something and not pay a penny more, no games.

The plan is for upgrades should they release new versions during that one year, you get it free.
If you opt out and they release a major release, even ones that fixes a major bug, you are not going to get it unless you buy a new version or pay upgrade price.
