I'm not familiar with DSL. It has a cat 5 cable to the modem, and phone line to the wall phone jack. Do I set it up as LAN, so it sees the cat 5? How does the modem know what # to dial? Am I missing a setup disc for the modem? Would really appreciate any help.

i was editing my user account and i found a new user called 'ASP.NET MachineA...' and i dont know who that is i am the only administrator so i dont know how this happened should i delete it?

After a item is deleted from recicle bin it's over right? Doesn't exist at all and no way to retrieve it?

I have Windows XP and I think I should be able to do this but I never found out how even though it is a common thing for a lot of people. Usually the web adress is written in blue and is an active link. Can someone who has done this inform me on the matter, thanks. I am a slow learner when it comes to computers.

I cant view any images on my computer on the internet. I remember on myspace once it gave a link that would fix it, anyone have any ideas on how to fix it?

Hey how come every time i try and download a file it always ends up being corrupt. Not sure if its only with zip, but after i click download on mozzilla and windows explorer its finishes instantly, i know the files not corrupt because i tried to download on my sister's laptop, it worked but she gave me a headache. Can somone please help me????

Hi everyone

Ive got a new computer its got windows xp on it, and i want to get my old files and internet connection settings from my old computer with windows 98 on.

I cant do it with floppy disks its too large per file, i want to transfer about 20 gb

i cant do it with cds either because the old computer doesnt have a cd writer on it.

So i think a USB cable connection is the only way for me to do it.

Does anyone know what this cable is called exactly? where i can get one? and does it need an installation disk to install it (especially on windows 98)

I have a Panasonic 700x digital zoom, or whatever... and I'm trying to use Windows Movie Maker to record myself, not import any type of file, just to record...

but yet it says it cant find the software thats necessary.

So what do I do now?

The programs I have are Adobe Acrobat 4.0. Reader 8.0 or Power Point and Microsoft Office. I have the 8.5x5.5 paper but can't seem to send it to the printer that size. I have already tried scanning it and changing the size from the printer but that didn't work. I need help!

I have Windows Vista Home Premium and I am using the parental controls feature. When I select "block file downloads" it blocks users from ALL downloads. As administrator I want to setup parental controls that will allow family members to access/download email file document attachments but not allow them to download new programs and executable files. How can i do that? I'm considering an option to simply allow ALL downloads but use the 'block programs' feature such that any executable file that is downloaded would require the administrator's OK before it can be run...but I wonder if that will mess up various standard upgrades that need to be run on a regular basis.
