The other week my computer wouldnt load up and reset itself after the Xp screen. i managed to fix this problem but now my computer is displaying stuff in 800x600 and the computer pages are showing but when i scroll down them they are very jumpy.... and programs are taking alot longer than usual to load and somethimes dont work very well... i cant get out of this by simply clicking on display properies because the only option i am now given there is to change the theme of the computer and i dont know how to fix the probelm.. and i also know that my computer is not stuck in safe mode but is acting like it is....

I came to the computer while the screen saver was on, after doing something yesterday, and it says that it's password protected and has the username as "owner". No one put a password on the computer. So, how do I remove this? I got an HP Windows XP Home Edition, with DSL internet.

A friend of mine is planning to enrol in the university soon and he planned to take up Computer Science.

The problem is that there are a lot of universities in the world and he does not know which one of them is a good university. As taking up a course in a foreign university is costly, it is of utmost importance for him to select a good university.

Can anyone suggest any university that is good in Computer Science or Computing? I would also like very much to know how a good university conducts its course. How are their courses structured?

My friend has received complaints from his peers that the way some universities conduct their courses are ridiculous. It seems some universities over emphasised on programming in their assignments.

I've installed this thing that you turn on when your computer's idle to use your unused CPU cycles to find cures for various diseases. I'm going to be at school all day, so I've given it permission to use basically my entire computer. Could it hurt my computer to run at full capacity all day and all night?

Maybe it's just my computer savvyless mind that just can't understand simple instructions or the instructions themselves are made to be undecepherable.....

I downloaded a film song from a site and chose to save it in my directory. It starts downloading and the process of downloading can be seen. It asks to run or save. I opted save and the file downloaded in Winrar format. But after downloading I went to the directory and checked it But I couldnt find anything. I even searched it But no results turned out.
Now where is the song and how can I rerive them, they got downloaded and they are in some place. I even enabled to search in Hidden but I din get any results. I even searched manually

PLEASE HELP MEE. I WANT THE FILE IT IS MY FAVOURITE SONG LIST ITS SIZE IS 63.5MB.

someone told to go to the last known configuration to check the last date my computer worked with no problems but i dont want to touch it yet coz i dont know if that will help and if it wont help i dont want to coz more problems to the computer please tell me what to do how to fix it and why it happenes thank you.

i download this really cool font from simplythebest fonts and i cant get it to work. when i go into control panel, click fonts and then install new fonts i find the font im looking for but then a error message comes up with... " file is being used and cannot be replaced wait until windows is finished using the file and then try again" i have waited 2 days but still nothing. Do you know how too install it and if so how.

Does anyone know an easy way to do this. I have about 3000 files (avg. size 50mb each- MS Word about 3 pages each). It takes about 10 CD's if I am burning and I can't seem to email that many at one time.

I really do not feel like burning and importing 10 CD's- is there an easier way?

when i go to download the adobe flash player, it says that a golden rod will appear, and i would have to click it but when i click download, there is no golden rod, what do i do?
