when ur friend has told u his IP Address, does he not tell his phone number ? what a silly question ? i hope next question will not be"i know ip address, so now i want their property list. "

No you can't.
IP address trace may get you to the city, and if your friend's listed in the phonebook you can kinda try that, but other than that, can't get any closer without opening ISP's logs, and that requires a court order (or a hacker, but that'd be breaking laws).
Tracer can't get you any closer than traceroute. Some traceroutes can get kinda close with maps and stuff, but there's no way it'll get you a physical address unless it's registered to a company or something.

yeah email them and ask is the only way.
Next people will want to know somebodys pants size from thier ip or mac address...
Totally different protocols and will never be possible.

yes u can. u need a tracer. try this http://www.aetdata.com/tracer/
it will give u the physical address of the ip address. now it's time to call 411 or have fun with the phone book
