I came to the computer while the screen saver was on, after doing something yesterday, and it says that it's password protected and has the username as "owner". No one put a password on the computer. So, how do I remove this? I got an HP Windows XP Home Edition, with DSL internet.

It only pops up when the screen saver comes on for a period of time.

Go to Screen Saver Options (by right clicking the Desktop) and clear the box that says " On Resume, ask for password"
The text may be slightly different as I am using Windows Vista and I can't quite remember how Windows XP works.

"No one put a password on the computer." If that wrer true, you wouldn't be asked for a password.
You did change your screen saver recently? If you didn't some nasty malware did.
Try hitting the Return (Enter) key. Failing that, unplug your PC and reboot, then change your screen saver to NONE.
Don't need them anymore anyway.
