Got a RCA TV model number FT7442 today from a friend.
I plugged it in an I can see that the tube in the back glows red like coils heated up. Is this safe, a normal feature of a direct view, or cathode ray tube television

My computer (DELL) has a CD/R burner and I don't know if I have to have a special DVD burning drive or just a Cd burner. I have two drives one for cd playing and other for dvd playing. Do I just need a dvd burning program?

I have Roadrunner and the normal cable box, hooked to TV and a spliter to my tower so I can also watch it on the computer.

My question is.... Can I cancel my normal cable service, get rid of the box, but still tap off the line and take it to my tower to watch at least basic cable? Just getting old paying $110 a month when I do it all on the computer for the most part, like to cut bill in half, remove TV but still watch it on the computer.

Anyone have just Roadrunner and try to see if they can get normal cable TV on the computer? Does it work? I know some old apartments I was able to get free basic cable on the TV from just plugging it in, was thinking same thing with this.

I have Microsoft Works and have written a document to which I need to add page numbers.

On my old PC I would go through format etc etc, and a screen would pop up asking where I wanted the numbers on the page and in what style etc.

On this one I hit 'page number' and it simple produces the number 1 wherever my cursor is on the page at the time, with no numbers on the following pages. No option screen comes up.

What am I doing wrong? Thanks!

I have windows xp service pack 2 and I want to format my hard drive by putting windows xp without service pack 2 on it. I keep getting a error saying I can't do it because my windows is more up to date than the disk. How do i bypass this?

This is a super strange thing that happens in Microsoft word. This was discovered by an Indian and Microsoft is puzzled as to why it happens...

1 Open Microsoft word

2 Type =rand (200,99)

(dont forget to type the = too)
3 press Enter

Are you surprised by the result?
(u have to press Enter right after you typed in the stuff)

Instructions say to unplug computer and insert card( i did) , i plugged it back in, push on button, nothing happened (computer would not turn on). i took out card without unpluging the power chord, computer started up (by itself). i'm thinking that my pci slot is 64 bit, not 32 bit, any ideas?
I'm in no way computer savvy.

When trying to upload music for background on my website. I click on the browser window on my web site, to go to my PC to upload (it makes no different if in my music folder desktop or documents) at the bottom where it says open below that all I get is All files (**) jpg and html files there is no mp3 or wave files showing up to click on how do I get those files to show up at the bottom of the upload window? Thanks Ken
