the drivers for the cd drive on my computer my dad has loaded something in that has fucked up the whole computer and now the cd drive doesn't recognise when a disc is put in where can i find the drivers for this.

i have an acer computer if that helps.

I have an original movie DVD which is of 7.5 gb and i want to make a copy of the DVD for my friend.I have a 4.7 gb blank DVD.How do i burn the movie onto that without loosing quality?Is there a reliable DVD Shrinking software that just shrinks the original DVD to something around 4 gb without much compromise on quality? I dont want my friend to see any noticable difference between the original and the copy..Any help is appreciated.Please provide the link to the website for the software if u have any.Thanks!!

I recently deleted some unused programs from my computer and now it is not working right. I deleted some games i had not played in a while and Norton Anti Virus because I was no longer a subscriber and thats all i can recall that I deleted. I am working with Windows XP pro and heres my problem- #1 when i open my Internet Explorer( IE) browser it displays most pages but certain tabs, buttons , or areas where you would log in do not appear and also when i log into my email account in yahoo I can click on my message but the only thing that appears is the heading box ( sent from: sent to: ECT.) No message appears. I tried to do a restore but the page comes up blank, i also noticed that certain pages I try to pull up not using IE just in my windows program do not appear. I dont know what to do ! Windows online help is getting me no where. PLEASE HELP ME !!! Thanks a million!

My husbands computer is slow because it doesnt have enough memory. We cant put memory in because the computer is so old, so we are trying to delete unused items/programs from the startup taskbar. Any suggestions how to do this? I thought it was somewhere in Control Panel but I'm not sure where to go.

my computer was fine until yesterday. When I tried to open my favorites folder, it said

C:\Users\Favorites\Favorites\Favorites refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. If it still cannot be located, the information might have been moved to a different location.

When i turn on the pc it takes a bit of time for things to load,so i figured it was the system tray, it's full of programs that i don't use everyday,how do i turn them off so that they only start up when i choose so.? i don't want to have to manually close every program on startup it's annoying,thanks in advance..

I am a new iMac user and am used to using the 10-key portion of the keyboard on PCs. However, whenever I use the 10-key portion on the Apple keyboard with the iMac, the program freezes. What is going on? Why put the 10-key on the keyboard if it doesn't work!?!
