Copy & Paste the data files to the external drive, then attach it to the other PC.

TIP: Open the data files with the same program that you used to create them.

I just did mine the other day, I used DVDs for my data, installed the fresh OS, reinstalled all my applications, and copied my dta from my burned DVDs.
