I frequently answer math questions through IM to help others in Canada, California, and Utah. The problem is that whenever I type something like: "(x)", an emoticon pops in it's place. How do I stop this? I've already tried to change the options in Options/Messages/show emoticons. It is unchecked but the messenger still replaces the "(x)"! How do I stop this; is there a way to completely delete these emoticons? It is really frustrating when you are trying to help someone but it's extremely slow because you are fixing errors instead of just typing all of it at once. -Thanks in advance!

There is a company called Instant Financial Services out of Chicago with a web address of www.instantfs.net. They claim I could get a $5000 loan at 7% repayable over 5 years. But to get the $5000, I first must Western Union them more than $800 as "colateral". Anyone have an answer on how to find out if this company is real, if the web address is scam waiting to happen. I'm trying to free-up some hard drive space by burning a disc. The thing is, I only have 60MB of space left and I need 700MB to have room for the temporary files to burn a 700MB disc. Is there any way to not make temporary files to burn a disc?

Is there any way you can get rid of the little descriptions that come up in the little box when you move your mouse over certant things? Like when you move you mouse over the star button it says next to the mouse 'Click here to begain'. or like if you move it over a pitcure its say something about it.

I installed a new AntiVirus program, but first I had to uninstall my old one. After doing so It had me restart my computer. Now that message pops up when I turn on my computer and it does not allow me to continue installing my new program and does not recognize that I unitstalled my old program.

HI. Does anyone know why one of our 3rd party software licences suddely stopped working...we are running xp with service pak 2. Last week we had this crazy dll error which had a specific micrsoft fix. Does anyone know if the recent microsft updates have caused problems with licences?? The specific software is called MAITRE"D and we use it in our hotel to run virtually all of operations!! HELP!!!!!!

The computer I'm working on does not have a printer and uses Microsoft Word 2007. I am sending the document to a computer that uses Word 2003 so that I can print it. Will this work?

Another question: is there any way to set up a printer without the disc it originally came with? I can't find the disc and the printer hooks up using a USB cable. I've connected it to the computer, but it asks me to insert the disc. Is there any way to make it recognize the printer without the disc?

Sometimes my fat fingers type something other than what my brain is thinking for a URL. Once I've hit the Enter key, the typo gets entered as an autocomplete entry. How can I clear that typo, and only the typo, from my autocompletes? I don't want to clear my entire history. Is there any other way?
