Somtimes...
It's probably your fan, It might only need a cleaning. They accumilate a LOT of dust! A LOT! Try giving it a quick cleaning before bringing it into the repair shop. Just make sure you take off your socks and touch something metal right before you touch anything inside your computer though. This will "ground" you. Best not to do this on a carpet either, static shock. Hope this helps :-)

Dont bang the computer lol, its not a tv set. The humming noise is probably the fan on the cpu or the power supply fan. Be careful and open up the case and use a compressed air can to clean the dust and gunk out of the fan housing on the cpu and power supply ( make sure the computer is off and unplugged of course) You might end up having to replace the fan, if its on the cpu you will have to take it in to a computer shop to get it replaced, if its in the power supply then youll need to buy a new power supply and replace it.

As mentioned it may be a fan. You need to check it out as the fan on the processor go out it may cause more problems. There two ways to check. Remove the side panel from the case and boot the computer. You can unplug the fans one at a time to hear when it get quite and know. But, what I do and I know this may sound crazy, I just poke my finger into the fan to stop it long enough to hear. You can wear a cotton glove if you worried of the fan hurting you. Also, it could be the fan in the power supply or loose screws allowing vibration.

Your processor must be cooled-down, that's why you have cooler. It's just a fan, like any toher, more-less. Because it works, he must make noises, now depends how you define loud. Maybe it's normal noise. My advice is to get somebody (friend or neighbour) to check out is it it's normal sound or loud than it suppoused to be. If it's louder, you can try to reduce speed, but don't get too low because your CPU temperature will rise and may damage it. Best thing you can do it so get someone look at it.

The fans or the disk drives should be the only things moving in there. Some are very loud, and most get louder when they're getting old. If you open up the case you might be able to tell which piece is noisy.

If the computer's old, yes, it's normal. If not, take it to a computer repair place and ask them to check it out. If it has been humming like that since you got it, it's normal then.

Yes, it's normal. That's the sound of your fans running. You can always replace the fans if it's too annoying. It's very simple, and cheap.
