I frequently answer math questions through IM to help others in Canada, California, and Utah. The problem is that whenever I type something like: "(x)", an emoticon pops in it's place. How do I stop this? I've already tried to change the options in Options/Messages/show emoticons. It is unchecked but the messenger still replaces the "(x)"! How do I stop this; is there a way to completely delete these emoticons? It is really frustrating when you are trying to help someone but it's extremely slow because you are fixing errors instead of just typing all of it at once. -Thanks in advance!

This can be done by going into the Live directory and finding the emoticons directory and deleting the actual emoticon files.

But this will only aggect the view on your system as the emoticons are still installed on the computers of the people you are helping.

Sorry if this does noy help you....

If she has the comparable as you like you stated then tell her to delete it from administration panel after which installation it returned. If there nevertheless is something incorrect with it then something is incorrect along with her computer.
