No, I couldn't, EITHER!
Being disabled, I don't get out all that often, so, the fact is, that my computer actually, keeps me in touch, with what's happening, in the World!
And, - more importantly, - I wouldn't be able to answer questions, like THIS ONE, - and I would REALLY miss not being able to do that!

I can live without my computer if I am not living in this information age. It is matter of choice. I can use mail instead of email but I would have lost some part of the possible communication through email. Also if I always travel around the world to live, then it would be more consistent to use a global email instead of a changing mailing address. So I would say it is the culture which make it impossible for someone to live without a computer. This reason is not counting the information you can found on internet...

We all could "live" without a computer but I think it is more habit than anything else. Whenever I wake up, I switch mine on and it's there until I go to bed. I am going on holiday next month and even e-mailed the hotel to find out if they have internet access. My wife thinks I'm sick but the truth is, the computer is here to stay and in time will get so small that it will be like carrying a watch. When we go out, we feel naked if we forget our mobile phones and before long will feel the same way without our computer.

I doubt i could! Everything i do revolves around using a computer. At work i send emails, type up letters etc. If this was to be done by hand it would take much longer, with mistakes and would look untidy.
If i want to search for anything i can quickly go onto the internet and look up anything i need. Imagine not having a comp and having to look through endless books to find the information. We have become too reliant on computers and have forgotten all the resources we used to use!

This is an interesting question. It makes me realise how i have become really addicted to my computer. Last month my computer got a problem and i remember i spent my whole afternoon trying to repair it so that i can use it. This year it i have been using my computer on 99.9% days for more than 4 hours daily. It has really become a problem for me coz now i am doing my A levels and my teachers have told us to stop using the computer as such. So hopefully i will stop depending too much on my pc soon but for now it is still a miracle if i dont use my computer once a day.

most definitely. I think I would be sooo much more productive and get out in the fresh air a lot more.
About a year ago I accidently spilled boiling tea on my laptop and completely destroyed it. I was heartbroken at the time, but looking back, I read so many books in the inter-regnum before getting a new laptop.
Really the computer/internet is the most comprehensive device for time-wasting ever deviced: YAhoo answers being a case in point.

I'm a university student and I dont have a living room or TV in my current accommodation. For this reason my computer is my only source of entertainment, and my only connection to people outside of my immediate surroundings. Without my computer the only thing I could do for entertainment would be to read all day long!

i have arthritis and sometimes can't get out, my computer to me is a absolute necessary thing, no i couldn't live without it, i am able to do my shopping, and don't feel so isolated when i cant go out, my computer was well worth the money would be devastated if something happened to it, like a virus or something, these people who send out virus just dont know the worry and damage they can do to people who are dependent on a computer, has i know a few people who are disabled and computers have helped their quality of life.

I could if I had to as I have so much other stuff that keeps me busy as well........but I have to admit the information that I've learned since having a computer is nothing to what I knew before......it really opens up the world to people & all the knowledge we need is at our finger tips, I'd miss just being able to research something on the web whenever I needed it......
To me it's like having a car......life is good without it but it really opens your world up with it......

I've been without internet access at home for two weeks because I've just moved in but my computer is my baby! My TV reception sucks and I've been using my laptop as a receiver and transmitted! Good thing I have net access at work or I'd be absolutely crabby!
