TheHumbleOne that is what to do if I want it to go from
1. apple
2. banana
3. orange
to
1. orange
2. banana
3. apple

but I want to know if it's possible to make the actual NUMBERS on the list decline (10,9,8,)

Sure.

If it is a list like:

1. apples
2. oranges
3. bananas

Select the whole thing.
Then, click Table, click Sort
sort by paragraphs
click descending
This will sort by numbered row.

If it is a table, with the first column being numbered, and the columns having headings, you will still select the entire table and click Table, click Sort, where it says "sort by" you will indicate to sort by either the heading name or the column number.

If you were to select only the first column of numbers, only that column would be sorted and the rest would stay as is.

You will get the idea when you try it.
