A DJ that I know told me a rumor that built into all Windows operating systems after Windows 98, Microsoft (possibly as a result of a lawsuit) built a mechanism into the OS to reduce the sound quality of burned music CDs. Therefore, it is not an "exact" copy and they cannot be held liable for copywright infringement. I realize this sounds like a conspiracy theory, but CDs that I have burned on Windows XP do seem to sound flat to me. Has anyone else heard this rumor? Can anyone provide any more information?

and out of those that do have one, how many actually use it?

It seems like nobody has a cam; yet i see them getting bought in the shops. Are webcams like expensive cook books; you buy them, stick them on a shelf, but never actuallu use them?

now when I try to do this, I receive the following message: 'If you change the file name extension, the file may become unusable. Are you sure you want to change it? yes/no
In the beginning when I saw this message, I would click Yes .. and never could open the pic or file, etc. after that. So I lost some of my pic's .. a few. This only happens in Microsoft Word. Does anyone know why and HOW CAN I STOP THIS FROM HAPPENING? Thank you up front for any help on this matter. : )
