and when I move my mouse over it, it says: SSL Secured (128 Bit). What does that mean? What is it's purpose? Thank you

that means you are interacting with a website on a secure server which means that the packets being sent to and from the server to you are encrypted using 128bit encryption. if you look in your address bar, it probably says https instead of just http. ssl stgands for secure socket layer.
