Open the cover to determine exactly what's making the noise. It could be a powersupply fan, it could be a front or rear case fan, a cpu fan, a harddrive, or a cable brushing against a fanblade. Replace noisy fans. If it's a noisy harddrive, back it up, it might be failing soon.

The power supply often has the fan in it. They're usuaily quite a bit more expensive to replace than just a fan.

Depending on how old the computer is. All you may need to do is take off the cover, and clean all of the dust off of it. But I wouldn't use anything wet. I would use something like a duster or compressed air...or a vaccuum. If its your fan, check and see that its not got anything in its path.

Replacing the fan can make it quieter, but you will not be able to make it completely silent. Unless, of course, you turn it off.

Depends on what is making the sound. If you think it is the fan replace it.

Although hitting it with a sledgehammer would work, you can actually replace your fans with a liquid cooling system. Look it up on Google

YEAH IT SOUNDS LIKE THE FAN IS ON ITS LAST LEG....GET A CAN OF AIR AND BLOW IT OUT AND SEE IF THAT HELPS...IF NOT REPLACE THE FAN ON THE INSIDE ITS EASY..IT COULD ALSO BE YOUR POWER SUPPLY FAN TOO...EASY TO REPLACE AS WELL BUT IT COSTS MORE TO DO SO.

I dont hate Dell computers because I actual have under no circumstances used one. To the individuals who use them alot for sure they prefer them as they do each and everything it is envisioned of them. while the individuals who dont like them, Dell isnt the pc for them. Its an similar with Apple. no longer each and every individual likes utilising them as you cant improve. If each and every individual only kin member kind of pc then the designers may be in enormous difficulty lol

you could try getting a better fan, adding more fans, or changing your cooling system completely with a liquid cooler
