Hardware - December 2007

Price ain't a thing, unless you tell me to buy me a better computer or motherboard because i haf the following:
Athlon XP 2000+
1.5GB RAM
140GB Hard Drive
256 MB Video Card
Any suggestions ill take because i want to max out my computer with this motherboard i have.It takes a 939 Socket.
SO far im getting a Athlon XP 4000+ unless theres better...
oh yea for video card i dont have PCI E.... Thanx :D

In my neighborhood or more specifically.... my phone number according to the phone company website says that I am able to receive 3 different speeds of service. 550 kbps being the slowest and 10mbps being the fastest in my neighborhood....., what does the telephone guy do to change the speeds that I can receive....., is there a filter of some sorts or a different dsl modem that allows a higher speed or is there a combination of the two......, what does he/she change outside or inside to make this happen????

I have a laptop running a Geforce 6150 (iys HP dv9000 laptop) issues. With the card and 2gb ram and vista. The computer is running incredibly shitty even on low requirement games like WoW im getting 6-7 fps on medium settings and only 17 on the lowest. What can I do to speed up computer

when i went to plug in my old keyboard it wouldn"t work. so i plugged in another one .te keyboard plugs but it don" t work. i have to keep using the onine keyboard. how can i fix this

I bought a laptop screen off ebay. The guy claims it worked when it left his place. But the first one I got was cracked easy to tell. Mine is cracked though and it still works. Cant see very good though that is why I bought a diffrent one. I didnt want to spend 250 for new one so I matched up the resoultion and the size. He claims he does it all the and they work fine. I have asked firedog, geeksquad, computer friend nobody really seems to know this answer. I have read that they are not interchangable. They manf. do this on purpose so you will have to buy there product. I also know some are interchangable. Any help would be great. Thanks Drew

i want to know if there is a way i can actually know if certain graphic cards work on my system b/c i plan on buying one however i get screwed over by the good cards because its too much for my system to handle and my pc model is ( Gateway 500L)

i want to kno if this computer is even worth upgrading and if the parts are compatible. and if they are decent im on a small budget.my mobo does have a pci-ex16 and should i upgrade my CPU cooling or just replace with a better thermal compund??

i have 2 questionsm if u dont mind answering
When i play a game that my pc must easily run, and when the default settings in the games Set to "High", that means the my pc can run the game soomthly on High Graphic but it doesn't?? i dont know why?? my friends said that my pc temp is High, it sometimes up to 44?? so are they right??
and i want a program than measures the Temp in the windows??

2nd questions: i have 1GB of Ram but there's only about 750MB left?? though i dont run any majer program?? is this a reason for the game being not smooth??

Okay so i have this old computer i'm trying to upgrade its components. But i do not know whether y motherboard is compatable with the parts i want to connect.
