Sounds like you have several tabs opening up but not all have designated urls. Chances are you haven't got the urls input properly. It's not a problem to go into the Tools>Internet Options and add or correct any urls you want to start up.

Do you not have a homepage set for your browser??
Tools (at the top)--> Internet Options --> General (Tab)---> type in a website for your starting homepage
