the new components i want are
-NZXT guardian case
-HIS HD 2600XT 256mb GDDR4 128-bit PCI-Ex16
-2GB PC2 6400 G-skill Memory
-Rosewill 500W power supply

i want to kno if this computer is even worth upgrading and if the parts are compatible. and if they are decent im on a small budget.my mobo does have a pci-ex16 and should i upgrade my CPU cooling or just replace with a better thermal compund??

Yeah, that should work. Stock cooler should be fine since you could typically not overclock on a proprietary motherboard. If the fan tends to be noisy during gaming, consider a better fan from SilenX or just replace the whole cooler with a better one from Arctic Cooling, Scythe, Thermalright, Zalman, etc.

Well what cpu do you want? i recommend a e750 for that price range.

Change the psu, since it can break everything in your case buy a corsair 520w

memory is fine

graphics is fine, although an 8800gt is much better
