As certain as the fact that you breath air. The internet is filled with viruses and hidden virus that are just waiting to be found. Other viruses will simply find your computer. Even with the best protection software, there are people out there coming up with new ways to get around the protection and infect anyone's pc. You can minimize the risks but you'll never prevent all of them. It is sad that our greatest tool for knowledege is constantly under seige by the idiots who create, embed and distribute those viruses.

Without good computer protection, 100%, if you connect to the internet. With a good computer protection (firewalls, anti-virus, anti-spam, the works, it is still better than 50% if you connect to the internet, as the bad guys invent evil, vile stuff faster than the good guys can keep up. Remember: when not on the net, disconnect from the internet (turn off the modem, pull a wire, whatever it takes. Merely turning off your computer is NOT protection from the internet.
And, also very important, watch which sites you visit!

If left unprotected, security companies have determined that it takes a clean PC about twenty minutes after connecting to the Internet to get infected. You won't see most of these infections, and scanning won't show them or remove them. So use a firewall, router encryption (WPA) and an active anti-virus program at the minimum.

actually very many chances of it getting a virus. do not download any other virus protectors online unless the computer's manufacturer says its ok or has a requirement. Just dont go on websites like stuff that "pimp out ur myspace" or if its like a really convoluted URL like 80.pl.moei.ca.com or something like that . *btw that was an example*
good luck &hearts
