I'm buying a new a laptop and I'm comparing one dell model and 2 different HP models.

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5450 (1.67 GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 667MHz FSB)

Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2330 (1.6 GHz, 1MB L2 Cache, 533MHz FSB)

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo T5250 (1.5GHz/667Mhz FSB/2MB cache)

The first and last one. The new Core 2 Duos are more energy efficient so a little longer battery life. Speed is about the same.

Always get the one with the bigger L2 cache. This is what makes one so much faster than the other. A 2 gig cpu with a L2 cache of 1mb is noticeably slower than a 1.6 gig cpu with a L2 cache of 1mb.

It's also why Celerons are cheaper than the regular Core Duo. They have a reduced L2 cache.

The L2 is what hands info to the CPU to process. If it is slow then the CPU just sits there waiting for the info to come before it can process it.

You wont see any difference between the 1st and 3rd one by the way. If they have a difference in graphics card, say one is built in integrated graphics, and the othe one has an actual graphics card, then get that one. All else being equal, choose the one that has more USB ports, better look, etc., and the one with the bigger Hard Drive.

Intel Core 2 Duo Processor T5450 is the best of the bunch..... the worst is the Pentium Dual-Core Mobile Processor T2330

You would be safe with either the T5450 or the T5250, they are quite close in comparison.......
