I want to get an Nvida 7900GS AGP. I have a Gateway 500XL, and I want to know what kind of power supply I need, and where to find it.
Also, if I were to get an ATI 1950 PRO what are the power requirements? Thank you for your time.

I just looked up your computer, it originally came with an NVIDIA GeForceFX 5200, upgrading to a 7900GS isnt going to require you to upgrade your power supply.....
Its when you run several hard drives, overclock, run multiple grapics cards that you need to start looking into a larger power supply......
Either of the video cards will be a nice upgrade for you.......

7900GS AGP draws about 50 watts mainly on the +12V rail. Current 350W power supplies with dual +12V rails should be able to handle it all day long.

X1950 Pro AGP draws about 75 watts. Current 400W PSU with dual +12V rails should be fine.
