I would like to test another tower with a different OS.

Is it possible to cable two towers together so they both use the

same monitor and keyboard , at the same time, without a lot of plugging and

unplugging. Both Dell XP & Vista.

For a certain project, I am interested in the spread of CPU speeds in the past. Or, put simply: how fast were computers 5 years ago? Or 8? Does anyone know of any research that has been done? Also, answers out of own experience will help. Thanks.

A friend of mine got a computer cheap from a library for $15, and she can't complain about the hardware, she just wants to use it for writting up papers for her classes. It came with windows 98 second edition, but she has the CDs for windows 2000.

Anyway, she wanted to know why her blank CD-RW was being displayed as full when it was completely empty. It has been a long time since I used windows 98, so I was wondering, are RWs compatible with Windows 98 Second Edition? For now she can use a floppy drive, but soon they will be completely taken out of school and library computers, so she would like to be able to save to a CD.

Is this something with Windows 98, or could it be a hardware issue? When she has the internet connection, I am going to install windows 2000 for her for and get updates.

the rating that it says that I need for my new graphics card states
A minimum 400W system power supply (with 12V current rating of 20A or more)
what does the 12v current rating of 20a or more mean? and should I even worry about it?

This is my freaking third time typing again, so, I'll just tell everything in point form.

- 3 keys not functioning properly --> 's', 'w' and 'x' when typed, they give me junk, even open programs and search

- rebooted, didn't work, waited and tried again, failed

- checked out the following link --> http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AnaCu9ZRMIBC_.lFGMi8xCJIzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20070510170412AA20AFM

- ran avast! antivirus [still running]

- thought a virus infection is a possibility since I remember seeing a dialogue box about taskmanager.exe not found or whatever

- hoping so badly that it's a keyboard problem and not an infection

What do you guys think? What should I do?

Any help rendered deeply appreciated.

I'm confused about two connectors... I have never built with an sli board or sata2 drives. Most important, I've read that sata power connectors only supply 4 wires to the 12pin sata power connector. Which leaves out a 3.3 volt effectively disabling hot swap. I probably won't be swapping anything but does this lack of wires affect the drive in any other way?

Can I hook up 4 SATA drives with only one connector from PSU?

Lastly, can I hook up two SLI cards with only one SLI power connector?

I'm trying to find a good PSU for under 100, I WAS sold on a Kingwin but their site doesn't work to check specs and I won't buy PC parts from a company that can't keep a website up. My build below:

board - Asus P5N-E sli
cpu - CORE 2 DUO E6550 2.33GHZ
ram - PATRIOT 2GB KIT (1GB x 2) PC2-6400 800MHZ
vga - (single)SAPPHIRE Radeon X1950GT 256MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express
hdd - WD Caviar SE16 250GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb

2 optical and 2 ide hdds in case already.

I have a ASUS P5K Deluxe Motherboard and there are 2 fans that are on the case it is in. In the manual it says if you are using a Core 2 Duo processor (I am) then connect the fan to the Chasis Fan 1 connector. The problem is there are 2 fans, and I dont know if I should connect one to the named connector, and one to another connector, or connect them both through the Chasis Fan 1 connector (there is an extension to do that)

Any ideas?

My old roommate repartitioned my hard drive when we formatted my computer about 3 years ago, but he only left 3.9 gigs on my C drive. Now with windows and other programs taking up more room on the C than back then, I am left with under 200 mb free space which adversely affects the performance of my computer. I'd like to repartition my hard drive, and make my C drive about 5 gigs. Is there any way to do this without reformatting my whole hard drive again? Probably will be buying a new computer in the next year but want to improve this one's performance while I still have it, and don't want to go through backing up everything and so on. Can I simply "move" space between drives? Is there any program that allows me to do this? Please let me know how to go about doing this. Thanks.
