It apparent that you want to destroy a computer. I would think you might have a good reason so I will assist you, not in destroying it, but rendering it useless.

Make sure the computer is unplugged first. Pull out the left side of the computer housing. You may need a small screwdriver to remove the bolts from behind. Inside you will see toward the right a number of "chips" that are about 5 inches long. These are the memory chips and the computer cannot work without them.

Remove these chips and your situation is solved. It will be possible for them to be re-installed at a later time if you wish to change your mind. Destroying the motherboard is just not something you want to do. It would make a valuable computer nearly worthless and that doesn't make sense.

The motherboard does not contain any information; it only processes information. The motherboard does not house anything accept for the ability of the computer to function, which by removing the memory chips will do the same thing.

If you want to destroy the computer, a hammer to the guts of it would be the most effective means. However, I do not encourage this as the unit is valuable. It is the hard drive that houses the information; not the motherboard. You can erase the hard drive by re-installing the operating system with the original OEM disk. This will erase everything and restart it from scratch.

I do not recommend any of these options, but the latter would be the best option if you want to obliterate everything on the computer. Damaging the motherboard should not be an option, because there are other ways of erasing everything on the computer, as I just stated.

To answer your question directly, pouring soda on the motherboard might fry it, and make this computer inactive, but the "C" drive will still be in tact and could be installed on another computer.

Pouring anything on it will not only kill it, but it will shock you, and if it's hot enough, it can cause fire. It's has a bunch of electronics on it. Long, and everything's soldered into it. Memory, etc etc.

Yes. You can kill it hard... Static electricity of any kind... moisture if you're really getting your hands on it.
