Its windows XP home edition. I've done the online support and it couldn't solve my problem. I recently tried to install the SIMS2 and it said i didn't have directx9.0c, even though i did. So i fixed the bug by reseting my refresh force, and it was working fine. As soon as the game started windows freaked out and went into what looked like safe mode. But its doesnt say safe mode in any of the corners like it should. I tried reseting my display options and it won't go any better than 16 color bits and 640X480! I went back and redid everything i messed with to get the game to work, and rebooted. Still no luck. What do I do?

The monitor is philips 104s. when the computer is started the screen starts flicker in very high rate. there is a rare sound coming from back side of my monitor.
I dont think its problem with picture tube coz each pixel is clear as before.
The sound is somewhat like current leaking . but there is no shock when i touch any part of it.

The PC uses an Intel 82865G graphics controller. The problem is that the controller shows avlbl modes as 1920x1200 (75 Hz) but monitor supports only 60 Hz. What to do? My friend uses the same monitor on the same graphics controller but on an IBM machine without any problem.

I'd like a monitor that looks good with widescreen DVDs and want a fairly high resolution. Think I should get one with DVI and I'm not fussed about sound but even this doesn't cut down the large selection! Will take any recommendations.

iT TAKES ME AT LEAST 20 TIMES TO PRESS THE START BUTTON ON MY PC TO GET IT STARTED (AT LEAST ALLOW THE MONITOR TO GET A SIGNAL FROM THE CPU), A while back, my PC couldn't even start. I thought it was the power supply and I changed it so the CPU can start but the monitor does not receive any signal from the CPU unless I toggle with the reset and start button. Once on, the computer stays on a while if I don't do complex work or graphics. Sometimes, after staying on for a while, I may get an error message, a blue screen, some distortion or the monitor just completly blanks off, making me start that toggling to restart the computer again. Can anyone tell me what is happening and what can I do to fix this immediately?

What are your experiences? Is there a definite benefit from switching? Do you notice how much better you feel?

My brother is customizing his truck and he already bought an eight inch touch screen in dash navi/radio/whatever else it does. The 13 Pin I/F jack input is for the navigation, but we were wondering if there was a cable that converts monitor output into the thirteen pin jack, so he could make his laptop available on the eight inch screen and make it touch screen compatible. Thanks

Hi
i have a celeron 433 mhz pc which i am trying to upgrade to celeron 900 mhz.it has 370 socket and maximum bus speed of 100mhz which suits the new processer. replacing the processer is not the problem but when i turn the computer on the monitor(compaq S710) does not show anything the green light of monitor turns on and off repeatedly. if i disconnect the data cable it shows message "no signal"just like normal monitor will do but as soon as i connect the data cable it does the same on off thing.further if i switch back to my old cpu i.e celeron433 mhz ,it works fine..

any help would be much appreciated.
