I am looking for a new lap top, I've checked out the Dell Inspiron 1501 and the Dell Inspiron 5121. Does any one have any suggestions or coments about these? Do you recommend these or another kind? Suggestions please...

not too pricey though, just for surfing the web, emailling, entertainment and so on, thankyou.
Also do you know if Dell are any good.

I have a Compaq Presario 2100 laptop and every so often I think it's when I'm laying in a position that not much air can get to it it shuts down. I feel the back it's normally very hot when I do so. Does anyone know if it has a safeguard to shut down at a certain temp? Or could there be a software issue?

I recently sent in my laptop to be fixed because of a battery problem. The company took out the old hard drive and replaced it with a new one. Then when I received it, the problem was still there so they sent a new barrtery and problem was solved. But in the process they re-uploaded windows software on my laptop and now I no longer have my software for the built-in camera. How do I get this software so it was function again?

i have a dell laptop (inspiron B130) and i was wondering if it comes with a network card or if i have 2 buy one.

i have a linksys wireless router and it is set up and everything, and i saved the information to a flash drive and put the flash drive into my laptop and downloaded the linksys info, but it said i didnt have an internet connection.

I am tight on money, but I'm trying to get a low cost laptop. I only need this computer for basic usuage (word, internet, etc.) (on the internet the most complicated site I go to is pandora)

I know how processors rate, and I know which ones are good- but I want to know. How low could I go and not be irritated by the speed. I have a VERY good desktop- but it lacks that laptop transport quality.

It's an Acer Aspire 3680. I took off the small machine screws on the back, and the top case sort of could be cracked open. I didn't force it open further. Replacement keyboards are about 35 bucks and they have a ribbon connector. I figure it can't be that difficult to remove in order to clean it out with some electronic parts cleaner, but I can't figure out how to remove the keyboard.

I'm looking at getting a laptop (but I guess they call it "notebook" now) computer for college work and fun. One computer that I'm looking at says it has 4 GB RAM post-upgrade, pre-upgrade is 2 GB. What does 4 GB RAM do that 2 GB doesn't do? Is it worth the upgrade? And what would the upgrade cost be like?
